Events

Today, October 8, thousands of women and men are embarking on a three-day, 60-mile journey to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. The 2010 Susan G. Komen Washington D.C. 3-Day for the Cure® begins at Washington Nationals Stadium and will travel 60 miles through the Washington D.C. area, concluding Sunday at the Washington Monument. The Washington D.C. community will provide encouragement by attending the Opening and Closing Ceremony and supporting walkers at official Cheering Stations along the route. Friday, October 8

 

7 am: Opening Ceremony

A fun, festive break in the route where walkers enjoy nourishment and music.

A creatively-themed stop along the route where walkers can hydrate, get snacks and stretch. At this pit stop, walkers are welcomed by a local cheerleading group!

During the Saturday night camp show, country music singer/songwriter Candy Coburn will perform. After 40 miles, walkers still get up to dance!

During the Closing Ceremony, Candy Coburn will perform live her hit, “Pink Warrior.” This song is an anthem to the millions of families who have been or may be touched by breast cancer.
