District Man Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison For December 2010 Murder of Southwest Washington Woman

Shawn Davis, 37, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced today to 18  years in prison for the murder of a former girlfriend, who had turned to him for help within hours of suffering a painful leg injury, U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. announced.

 

Homicide & Arrest: 3600 Block of Highwood Drive, SE

 

From Officer Paul Metcalf: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal stabbing which occurred in the 3600 block of Highwood Drive, SE.

On Sunday, March 4, 2012, at approximately 10:17 am units from the Sixth District responded to the 3600 block of Highwood Dr., SE to investigate the report of a male who had been stabbed. 

District Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison In 2010 Slaying in Southeast

From the United States Attorney’s Office:

Katrell Henry, 37, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced today to 20 years in prison on charges stemming from the slaying last year of a man in Southeast Washington, U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. announced. Henry was convicted by a jury in November 2011 of voluntary manslaughter while armed and three related firearms offenses. He was sentenced by the Honorable Lynn Leibovitz.

To date, our field services division has responded to nearly 15,000 new calls, including over 1,300 cases of animal cruelty and neglect investigated by our HLE officers.

Anthony T. Benson, 50, was sentenced today to a total of 7 ½ years in prison for crimes that included the burglary of a District of Columbia government building during last year’s December holidays, U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. announced.
