The Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, now in its fifth year, helps keep beaches, rivers and lakes across America “barefoot friendly.”

In 2011, Barefoot Wine and the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches, along with community volunteers, are embarking on a tour of 20 cleanups nationwide, kicking off in our nation’s capital at Anacostia Park. Following the cleanup, which will take place at Anacostia Park Saturday morning, volunteers 21+ are invited to attend a Surfrider-hosted celebration featuring Barefoot Wine, surf-inspired fare and a live music performance by Brett Dennen.

This event will take place Saturday, May 21, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Anacostia Park Anacostia Drive SE & Nicholson Street (Meet at the Skate Pavilion) Washington, DC 20019 look for the Surfrider tent!

After, the celebration will take place at Tony & Joe’s Seafood Place 3000 K Street NW DC (Washington Harbour Plaza) from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m..  The event is free and open to the public.  To RSVP visit BeachRescue Online.
