Man dies after car crashes into pole in DC | News
WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A man has died following an accident in Northeast Washington early Wednesday morning.
Metropolitan Police Department officials say the man was in a vehicle involved in a multi-car crash at 14th and H Street NE shortly before 4 a.m. The vehicle crashed into a pole, say police.
A man in the area getting something to eat saw the car, without its headlights on, drive in one direction with no headlights. He told WUSA9 that a short time later he saw the car traveling in the opposite direction, still without lights. He said this time the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed before the driver lost control and the vehicle struck a pole and went airborne. While in the air the vehicle hit a traffic light, then crashed to the ground and caught fire, says the man.
