(Washington, D.C.) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the eastbound lanes on the Southeast/Southwest Freeway between 11th Street, SE and Pennsylvania Avenue, SE for an estimated two hour period starting at 10 pm tonight.  The 9th Street, SE entrance ramp to the eastbound Southeast/Southwest Freeway will also be closed during this time.

From Linda Grant: The full DC Snow Team is deploying today, applying salt to major roadways and residential streets, as needed.  The District also will move rush-hour traffic signal timing up to begin at 1 pm to facilitate the movement of traffic as employees leave work earlier to reach their destination before conditions can hamper travel.

From Monica Hernandez: The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close Good Hope Road, SE, from Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE to Anacostia Drive, SE starting at 6 pm tonight through 5 am tomorrow morning.  Motorists will also encounter intermittent 10 minute traffic stoppages on Good Hope Road, SE between Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE and Anacostia Drive, SE between 7 am and 5 pm on Tuesday, February 7 and Wednesday, February 8.  These road closures will allow DDOT to demolish the existing flyover ramp over Good Hope Road, SE.

DC DMV Ticket Amnesty Program Ends Tomorrow!

Customers have one final day to take advantage of the District Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) ticket amnesty program, which allows customers to pay outstanding tickets issued prior to January 1, 2010, without the penalties. The program will end on Friday, January 27.  After amnesty ends, all penalties will return to all parking, photo-enforcement and moving violation tickets issued before January 2010, unless a payment plan has been established.

DCTC Shuts Down Anacostia Cab Association

The DC Taxicab Commission today ordered the Anacostia Cab Association to stop operating and remove its 26 vehicles from city streets.  The action was taken as a result of numerous violations of Taxicab rules and regulations including providing a false address.
