This traffic advisory comes to us from Hugh Carew:

This is to advise the public of the road closures during the Fannie May Help The Homeless Walk.  The walk will form south of the National Mall on 7th Street, SW. Street closures will begin Saturday, November 19, 2011, from approximately 8:30 am, until approximately 11:00 am, the streets surrounding the Fannie Mae Help The Homeless Walk will be closed as stipulated below:

To observe the Thanksgiving holiday, all Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) locations will be closed on Thursday, November 24.  All DMV service centers, the vehicle inspection station, and adjudication services will open with regular operations on November 25.

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the eastbound lanes of the Southeast/Southwest Freeway between Pennsylvania Avenue, SE and 11thStreet, SE from 10 pm to 5 am on November 17, 21 and 22.  During this time the entrance ramp to the eastbound Southeast/Southwest Freeway from Pennsylvania Avenue, SE will also be closed.

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the westbound lanes of the Southeast/Southwest Freeway between Pennsylvania Avenue, SE and 11th Street, SE from 10 pm to 5 am November 14 through November 17, 2011.  During this time the entrance ramp to the westbound Southeast/Southwest Freeway from Pennsylvania Avenue, SE will also be closed.

DDOT Releases New Online Permitting Tools

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) today announced it has added new features to its Transportation Online Permitting System (TOPS) that makes the program even more user friendly for the public. The changes will make it easier for some businesses to apply and pay for permits, and also enable residents to search online for information about public space permits.
